On 12 December, a Gala of the Employer of Tomorrow competition, edition 2023, organised by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development, was held in Warsaw. In addition to participating in the selection of the main prize-winning employers in the competition, the Council for Competencies in the Modern Business Services sector also awarded sector prizes. During the gala, the Council was represented by Prof. PŚ Aleksandra Kuzior, Ph.D. – Deputy Chairwoman of the Council for Competencies in the Modern Business Services sector, and Dr Bartosz Sobotka – Council for Competencies in the Modern Business Services sector Animator.
In the Modern Business Services sector, 12 Modern Business Services related entities entered the competition. The sectoral jury of the competition adopted 10 criteria against which the entries were judged. These included criteria such as the size of the target group, diversity of activities, alignment with macro trends, impact on the quality of resources in the labour market or modernisation of the educational offer.
The highest number of points in all criteria was awarded to the national educational programme Be.Eco for primary and secondary schools (Be.Eco for short) – 2nd edition, submitted by Deloitte Poland Sp. z o.o. The programme was entered in the Ambassador of Education category. The initiative was awarded due to its very large target group: more than 49,000 pupils from 743 schools), its compliance with macro trends by including ecological knowledge and activities aimed at changing attitudes to pro-environmental issues, and the diversity and innovation of the programme activities (including the inclusion of pupils and parents in home education).
The second entity with the highest number of points was Vistra Corporate Services Sp. z o.o. for its programme Cooperation of Vistra Corporate Services Sp. z o.o. with universities located in the City of Lublin and the Lublin City Hall in order to provide students/graduates with practical knowledge needed to build and consciously shape their careers. The initiative was also entered in the Ambassador of Education category. The company receives an award for involving various stakeholders (local government, universities, media), reaching out to several universities and almost 500 students, a variety of activities (substantive classes for students, recruitment workshops, competition with an invitation to an interview, podcasts), which have a lasting impact on the adaptation of university programmes to the requirements of the labour market (70% of the people employed at the Lublin branch of Vistra Corporate came from universities where activities under the programme were implemented).
The gala was preceded by a conference entitled. “Is change the new constant? Employers of Tomorrow in the Age of Continuous Revolutions.”, which focused on trends and challenges in HR in the age of technological change and artificial reality, the impact of technology on changes in the labour market, generational diversity in the working environment and ethics and sustainability in business.
